The Reading Excellence and Discovery (READ) Foundation Volunteer

Working with READ staff and an outside consultant to collect, compile and analyze the standardized test data for more than 400 students in several schools, and to design meaningful and comprehensible student progress data reports. -Working with school personnel to collect test scores and demographic information -Using READ student database to enter, sort, and retrieve student data -Sorting data to identify trends and cause and effect relationships -Working with READ personnel to design reports that present findings in a clear and cogent way -Assisting READ staff in writing and editing the narrative that supports the data reports -Visiting READ sites to collect anecdotal reports from students, teachers, parents and tutors. Requirements: -Good interpersonal skills -Attention to detail -Interest in literacy and early intervention -Interest in data collection and analysis -Good graphic and writing skills -Bilingualism (English/Spanish) is a plus -Flexibility in traveling around the city and meeting lots of people -Enjoyment in creating and following through on an important new project Work commitment: Daily, 9AM-5PM (8AM-4PM when visiting schools) June through mid-August
