Volunteers receive full orientation and training and have opportunities to grow with the organization. The Sciencenter welcomes volunteers regardless of whether they're science aficionados or not. VOLUNTEER POSITIONS • “Bluecoat” Museum Floor Staff - Enhance visitor experience by facilitating interactions with exhibits and helping to maintain a safe, clean museum environment for all. • Discovery Space - Guide visitors in our lending library of science kits • Connect to the Ocean - Guide visitors in their exploration of our Tide Pool Touch Tank • Interactive Floor Programs - Lead tabletop activities that relate to our featured exhibits • Animal Husbandry & Handling - Assist with animal care such as feeding, handling and cleaning of animal habitats • Horticulture - Assist with maintenance of the museum grounds such as planting, weeding, trimming, and spreading mulch • Exhibits - Assist with the construction of new exhibits and maintain existing exhibits.
