The Cornell Tradition

The Cornell Tradition, an alumni-supported program that recognizes and rewards outstanding undergraduates, is a contemporary expression of the founders' vision. The program awards 500 fellowships each year to Cornell students who demonstrate significant work experience, a commitment to campus and/or community service, and academic achievement.

Cornell Tradition Fellows contributed over 50,000 hours of work and over 38,000 hours of service to the campus, local, and home communities in the 2016-2017 year alone.

**The Cornell Tradition is generously supported by the Frank H.T. Rhodes Cornell Tradition Endowment, established by The Atlantic Philanthropies in honor of President Emeritus Rhodes’s formative role in the program’s conception and founding.

In Spring of 2017, The Cornell Tradition was permanently endowed with a donation from Atlantic Philanthropies (AP).  In addition to supporting the operating costs of the program, they also have established the Frank H.T. Rhodes Cornell Tradition Endowment to support Cornell Tradition Fellows in international service experiences.
