SUSTAIN is currently advertising a summer internship position located in Washington, DC, and would like to make this information available to Cornell University undergraduate Food Science and Nutrition students. The term of this internship will be from beginning of June until mid-August (start and end dates negotiable for special circumstances, however, term of internship must last at least 10 weeks). Compensation: $8-10 per hour Description: To provide administrative and programmatic assistance for small 5-7 person non-profit office, including development and research for fundraising activities, project support, and day-to-day office administrative functions. Internship activities may include compilation and review of food consumption surveys, data analysis, ration basket analysis, and report preparation. Duties and Responsibilities §Support Programs – provide support to program staff to assist with program administration and implementation, including helping to support project coordination, research, data collation, information compilation, etc §Correspondence & Documentation – draft, proof and format routine correspondence, administrative procedures, meeting notes, and other documents, assist with correspondence and communications with partners around the world §Files – organize and maintain files and record-keeping systems §Reference Materials – organize, assemble, reproduce and maintain documents and graphic materials (e.g. program materials, publications, displays, etc.) §Database – perform data-entry, up-date and maintain information §Other Administrative Services – copying, faxing, and other support as needed Qualifications §Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, food science, and/or public health §Computer skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) §Skilled in filing/organizing office resources, proofing work for detail/accuracy, multitasking, and time/workload management §Excellent verbal and written communication skills §Fluency in Spanish a plus Application Procedure: To be considered for this position, e-mail cover letter and resume to Attach your cover letter and resume as a Microsoft Word file.
