The Cornell Tradition

You are welcome to read anything on our website but please refer to the 2020-2021 Cornell Tradition Information tab (under Policies) for current information in light of the COVID-19 virus.

The Cornell Tradition, an alumni-supported program that recognizes and rewards outstanding undergraduates, is a contemporary expression of the founders' vision. The program awards 500 fellowships each year to Cornell students who demonstrate significant work experience, a commitment to campus and/or community service, and academic achievement.

Cornell Tradition Fellows contributed over 50,000 hours of work and over 38,000 hours of service to the campus, local, and home communities in the 2017-2018 year alone.

**The Cornell Tradition is generously supported by the Frank H.T. Rhodes Cornell Tradition Endowment, established by The Atlantic Philanthropies in honor of President Emeritus Rhodes’s formative role in the program’s conception and founding.
