We offer this series of events to assist in orienting new fellows to the program. 

Freshman fellows will have reduced requirements for the year (50 hours of service including 7.5 hours of community service, 50 hours of paid work and 25 additional hours of any combination of work and service for a total of 125 hours) if they attend all of the outlined programs below. If a student does not attend all of the programs in the series then they will need to complete the full requirements- 100 hours of service including 15 hours of community service, 100 hours of paid work and 50 additional hours of any combination of work and service by the 5/6/2020 deadline.

New Transfer fellows only need to attend the Orientation and Teambuilding on September 21st and a TBA transfers only social event.

New upper-class fellows only need to attend the Orientation and Teambuilding on September 21st.

Explore CT programs

New Fellow Orientation and Teambuilding, Saturday, September 21st, from 10am-2pm

Students will receive important information about the program benefits and requirements as well as participate in activities to meet other fellows.  Lunch provided.

Commitment Showcase, Tuesday, September 24th from 4:30-6pm Come and learn about what students across all three Cornell Commitment programs have done to utilize their support accounts. 

Homecoming 5K- morning of Saturday, October 5th, Cornell Botanic Gardens- information about times available closer to date

Service and Work Opportunity Panel- Wednesday, November 13th 5-6pm

Come and learn about local service opportunities and jobs on campus.  Find new ways to meet your requirements!

Spring Welcome Back Dinner, February 6, 2020, 5-6:30pm,  A check in regarding work and service hours. A community leader will also attend and share information about their work in local community service.

2 SAC service events - All freshman fellows will be required to attend 2 SAC –led service events during the year. Students decide what will fit with their schedule and sign up on their own. Students must volunteer a minimum of two hours at each SAC event and be sure to sign in with an SAC member.  Volunteering at 2 hockey games will count as 1 SAC event.  Students can only count hockey as one of the two SAC service events.

1 SAC Social event - These social events are offered several times a semester and include activities such as ice skating and ice cream socials. Students decide which activity will fit into their schedule.
